Rev Anthea Ballam, Interfaith Minister & Priest
The Rev Anthea Ballam is an interfaith minister and priest based in Brighton, East Sussex.
Originally working as a journalist, press officer and company director, Anthea’s life changed when she was ordained as an interfaith minister in 2007. Since then she has worked as an interfaith minister, carrying out ceremonies - funerals, weddings and baby blessings, and also teaching prayer, meditation and visualisation to a wide variety of groups including cancer support groups.
She has a passionate interest in the use of visualisation to help people with serious diseases. She teaches guided meditation for health and wellbeing. Her interest in guided meditation for healing led her to become a qualified hypnotherapist.

She teaches and runs workshops on the following topics, all of which are subjects of ongoing research for her:

- Meditation and Visualisation
- Guided Meditation for Health
Anthea is the Chair of The Brighton and Hove Interfaith Contact Group. She is also a committed environmentalist and has stood as a Green Party candidate at two General Elections and continues to support green initiatives locally and nationally.
She currently produces a weekly email service and a blog entitled Words of Connection.
